Additionally, the Grooming technician is responsible for the maintenance and daily cleaning/disinfecting of the groom shop/area.
Dog Handlers may be cross trained in the grooming technician procedures for the groom shop/area.
The Grooming Technician works under the supervision of the Groomer and Front of House Supervisor.
The Grooming Technician performs paid bath services as well as complimentary bath services for client's dogs in addition to bathing dogs in preparation for grooming by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
? Perform bath functions as requested by client and described on the groom card/form.
? Nail trims, fresh breath treatment, de-shed treatment, healthy skin & coat treatment, and more.
? Prepare dogs for bathing in accordance with procedures.
? Dry dogs completely follow appropriate safety protocols.
? Cage dryer/force dryer is to be used for bath dogs, intermediate drying of groom dogs, and for dogs that are overstressed by the force dryer.
? All groom dogs must be completely dry and finished drying by hand.
? Finish dogs as described in procedures.
? All dogs should be finish brushed and combed.
? Bath dogs should have cologne and bandana applied unless client requests otherwise.
? Keep bathing stations stocked with supplies, tools cleaned, disinfected and ready for use.
? Helps to maintain appropriate levels of inventory.
? Maintain ready to use bath stations.
? Keep groom shop clean - remove hair off the floors in between brush outs, blow outs, and grooms.
? During the workday keep the room safe by wiping up water spills and pet accidents as they occur ? At the end of each workday all hair should be vacuumed from the floor, holding cages and all other areas prior to the floor and all grooming tables, cages and tools disinfected per company policies.
? Holding cages should be completely cleaned and ready for the next day's arrivals.
? Cleans, disinfects, and maintains bathing machine, cage dryers, and force dryers.
? Update pet status on the white boards and point of sale system.
? Advise front desk when dogs that are to be called when ready are finished.
? Walk dogs that are kept in groom shop in accordance with procedures and note time of walk on whiteboard.
? Always follow safety procedures for pets and staff.
? Ask for assistance when a pet is stressed, very difficult to manage or showing any signs of injury.
? Assist in upselling potential grooming dogs ? Other duties that are assigned.
Essential Functions ? Ability to use a PC, mobile device, and/or other electronics with our BFFE software systems.
? Perform duties at multiple workstations (e.

, front desk, sales, handling, etc.
) ? Complete all resort housekeeping functions (i.
e.
, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, cleaning kennels, sanitizing food bowls etc.
).
? Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

? Thorough understanding of company policies and practices.
? Valid driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation; must be able to travel and assist with transporting dogs, when necessary, between locations or to the veterinarian.
Availability ? Work weekends, evenings, and holidays; early morning and late evening shifts a possibility.
? Able to work weekends and holidays.
? Must be flexible regarding shifts available.
? Full time or Part Time Physical/Mental Job Requirements ? Must be able to walk and be inside/outside much of the day.
? Able to lift 50-60 pounds repetitively daily.
? Work with cleaning chemicals safely ? Must be able to move easily and quickly on a steeply graded hill over tiers of varying heights = max tier height = 3 feet ? Must be able to use hands and lifting techniques to lift dogs from crates of varying levels.
? Must be able to use hands to write and notate client records.
? Must be able to verbally communicate with dogs and humans.
? Must be able to use a shovel, broom, and other tools to complete job requirements.
? Must be able to work various shifts which vary from week to week.

Minimum Requirements ? High School Graduate or GED ? Genuine care and concern for caring for dogs of all sizes and needs.
? 6 months of professional dog care and bathing experience is preferred.
? 1-2 years of customer service experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
